I had the great privilege to share the story of The Imagine Project during The 200 Foundation’s 51st Annual Dinner last month.  With over 300 guests in attendance, the Foundation honored One Mission, an organization focused on improving hospital conditions for families with children with cancer.  Imagine and United Way were also highlighted during the evening.

We were able to share Imagine’s focus on four core areas:

  • Supporting Veterans moving from shelters into their own home
  • Recreational activities – twice monthly pizza & game nights
  • Community awareness including our Imagine Ambassador program
  • Veterans programs support

Imagine was so fortunate to raise additional funds during the event which will be used toward some recreational programs for our Veterans.  We are currently planning a fall foliage trip for our Heroes!

Imagine Moved our 3rd Marine this year!

Congratulations to Chris on his new home!

Congratulations to Marine Veteran Chris on moving into his apartment!  Another great delivery of all the items needed for Chris to get started including new pillows, sheets, blanket and comforter along with all the items needed for the bath and kitchen to help Chris get started.  We are now able to provide our Veterans with a gift card for them to go shopping for groceries to help them stock the cabinets!

Chris is excited for his patio and nice view of the trees and he is working on finishing his degree.  This move marks our 13th Veteran that we have been able to support with moving into their own place.

Two Marines moved to their own homes!

We started 2015 by moving two amazing Marines into their new homes this past March, Al and Jimmy.  Fortunately, they are close friends and their apartments were within the same multi-family.  Thanks to our great supporters we were able to provide them with a new bed frame and mattress, everything needed to cook including pots, pans, baking dishes, dinnerware, utensils and all the items needed for their bathroom including towels, bath mats, shower curtains and even cleaning supplies.  Thanks to some great supporters who helped us with gently used furniture including a sleep sofa and a beautiful kitchen set for Jimmy (who plans to double the items for some outdoor furniture for when the weather is nice) and a fabulous leather couch and another great table and chairs for Al.  We were so fortunate to have three of our Imagine Ambassadors to help us with the move – special thanks to Joey, Chris and Mike.  We could never have moved everything without you guys!
