What amazing things happen when people come together to support one another!

A Note of Thanks

As a Veteran who has met Julie and seen first hand how hard she and her team work to help Vets, I truly believe this has to be the best group of people out there. My wife and I were in a very bad spot when we met, but with Julie and the teams help we are now doing OK. At one time we had nothing now we have a bed that helps not only me sleep but my wife also, I now have jeans to wear, bedding that was picked with the colors my wife and I like. It’s not just all this, she is a lady who will sit and listen to what you have to say. She will talk to you not about you, I never heard her say we should have done things some other way, or we should have planed for what was coming. There is just so much she and the team did for us that we are so thankful for. When we go to bed at night trust me, the Veteran Support Alliance team and all who help them are in our prayers. We have nothing but respect for all of them. Thanks to all who cared enough to help. Jerry & Debbie

Imagine supports our 3rd female Veteran!

“Thank you so much for everything! I have not had such an amazing bed in a really long time! It even has a pillow top! I feel like Goldilocks! Not too hard, its not too soft! Just right!” This was our Veteran’s thank you email to Imagine upon receiving her new bed, blankets and sheets. We are so fortunate to be able to continue providing new beds to so many Veterans throughout Massachusetts!  With this move, our support has now grown to the MA North Shore!

Imagine works with local furniture bank

The Imagine Project, Inc. is so happy to announce our work with Fresh Start furniture bank in Hudson. Fresh start helps restore hope, dignity, and stability in our community by recycling donated furniture and housewares to people in need. They accept donations of gently used household items and distribute them free of charge. Imagine now refers our Veterans to this wonderful, 100% volunteer based organization to help them get furniture and housewares when they move into their own home! Please consider this great organization when you have furniture and home items that you no longer need, we have seen first hand the tremendous value this brings to our Heroes! The Advanced Math & Science Academy girls middle school basketball team joined us Friday to host our 2nd February dinner. Our Heroes were served pizza, a beverage cart wheeled refreshments through the dining hall and made to order ice cream sundaes with homemade cookies topped off their dinner.  A huge thank you to the team and coach Jenna for making this night special for our Heroes.  “It’s so nice to see the kids here and spend some time with them,” Keith, a Veteran at dinner commented, “They are the reason I served my country, to try and make it better for them.”

The Imagine team was happy to support John with moving into his own home after many years. Thanks to the support from a generous donor who provided his move-in kit, John was delivered everything he needed to make his house a home.  We also provided John a new bed which he very much enjoys. Congratulations John,  we are delighted to support a Hero in our hometown!

Happy Holidays for our Heroes a huge success!

Our 6th Annual Christmas Eve celebration was the most successful Happy Holidays for our Heroes event thus far! A huge thank you to our 21 Imagine Ambassadors who arrived at 6 am to serve a hot breakfast to over 95 homeless Veterans.  We also had a team of 13 volunteers that helped us package,  distribute and deliver hundreds of new shoes, boots, shirts, jeans, hats, gloves, socks, sweatshirts, blankets and gift baskets to Veterans in need throughout central Massachusetts.  Our ambassadors also enjoyed playing some basketball with our Veterans!HHH 2015 breakfast 12510249_10207754281275674_448381951928625857_n 12507424_10207754279035618_2189014848829240005_n 12507200_10207754277355576_9034952250750268804_n 12400636_10207754278435603_4502264383623362100_n 1610085_10207754273235473_7678780270680287219_n 12510249_10207754268515355_5904438788693803236_n 12509441_10207754285515780_5541920165708421165_n 12507324_10207754288035843_1738623916541700194_n
