Huge thank you to Knights of Columbus Council 81 for supporting R and his family with moving into their new apartment. What an honor to support another Iraq war Veteran.
For the second time this year, the students of Immaculate Conception school supported a Veteran moving into his own apartment. Jeffrey had been living out of his car, he is a seven year Gulf War Veteran. Thanks to these amazing students, Jeffrey now has everything he needs for his home. IC Students are truly making a difference for our Veterans!
- Imagine our Veterans having towels, blankets, pillows, cooking items, dishes and utensils when they move into their own apartment… We have supplied move-in kits for 48 Veterans and 14 of their children moving out of homelessness in 17 communities.
- Imagine no Veteran, nor their child, sleeping on the floor, an air mattress or futon. We have provided 26 beds (4 for little heroes) when there was none.
- Imagine having your own new shirt, pants, or shoes that fit…when everything you wear is donated. We have given out over 1880 new pairs of pants, shirts, shoes and sneakers to hundreds of Veterans across the commonwealth.
- Imagine having dinner with people that do not judge you, that accepted you where you are, regardless of what you may be going through…. We have hosted 84 family nights serving dinner to hundreds of Veterans throughout central MA
Imagine is thrilled for Carl and his two children to be moving into their own home. It’s been a long road, but they made it and are doing well. A huge thank you to our supporters for helping us provide beds for our junior heroes, complete with special bedding just for them. A move-in kit and grocery gift card are also on the way. Much happiness to all of you, we are so grateful for your service!
Congratulations to Shelby as he moved into his own place this week. We’ve known Shelby for some time now and to see him finally get settled into his own apartment is so great! We are so grateful to support Shelby with sheets, blankets, cooking items, bath items and a gift card to get some groceries. He is so excited to finally buy some food for his new home. Congratulations Shelby and thank you to you and your father (a WWII Veteran) for your service!
Imagine was so fortunate to support Bill with his moving into his new home. Bill had been through more than anyone should ever go through in a lifetime. He had been living on the street for a few years, he had no place to lay his head at night, he was not sure what each day would bring. He finally met the right person to help. We were then contacted to help with a bed and everything needed to get started. Thanks to our incredible supporters, we had a bed delivered and sent a move-in kit and grocery gift card to help get him started. We are so very happy he now has his own pillow and bed to sleep warm and safely each night.
The Imagine Project, Inc. is so happy to announce our work with Fresh Start furniture bank in Hudson. Fresh start helps restore hope, dignity, and stability in our community by recycling donated furniture and housewares to people in need. They accept donations of gently used household items and distribute them free of charge. Imagine now refers our Veterans to this wonderful, 100% volunteer based organization to help them get furniture and housewares when they move into their own home! Please consider this great organization when you have furniture and home items that you no longer need, we have seen first hand the tremendous value this brings to our Heroes! The Imagine Project is so grateful to the Student Council at Immaculate Conception School in Marlborough for their incredible support of our Veterans! We were so happy to meet with them and share stories of our work and how they can make a difference in the lives of our Veterans! The students at IC raised $385.00 from “Dress Down Days” where they raise money for a local charity by dressing out of uniforms on special days. The funds from the Student Council went directly to Vielka and her children who moved into their own home!
The Advanced Math & Science Academy girls middle school basketball team joined us Friday to host our 2nd February dinner. Our Heroes were served pizza, a beverage cart wheeled refreshments through the dining hall and made to order ice cream sundaes with homemade cookies topped off their dinner. A huge thank you to the team and coach Jenna for making this night special for our Heroes. “It’s so nice to see the kids here and spend some time with them,” Keith, a Veteran at dinner commented, “They are the reason I served my country, to try and make it better for them.”
